Take A Break
As I sit here on the screened in porch enjoying the perfect summer weather, warm with a gentle breeze, after a sailboat ride across the lake and back, I realized something I wanted to share with anyone else that may be planning a wedding.
No matter how much needs to get done, no matter how long the to-do list, no matter how far behind you think you are, take a break. You’ll be glad you did.
It has been so easy to get carried away with the planning and coordinating of such a big event, that sometimes we forget that in the end, it’s just a big party with our family and friends, it shouldn’t be causing us to stress out. Not to say we’ve been over-stressed. We have had plenty of fun along the way, picking out the food and the music and making our invitations. But sometimes it is really nice to just get away.
So if I could pass on some advice to anyone else out there planning a wedding (or doing anything stressful), I would say, take a break. Sure, it may put you further behind, but you will enjoy it and it will be worth it.
Grab your beverage of choice and a comfy rocking chair and just sit back and relax, whether it’s at the pool, on the beach, or just on your own front porch, take a break.
